How To Plan A Successful 2015 Pinterest Strategy
Here You Have Seriously Important Tips
What Pinterest-related goals did you accomplish in 2014? A certain number of followers? Increased average engagement? A regular pinning routine? Higher traffic from Pinterest? Implementing Rich Pins? Optimizing your website for Pinterest?
If you didn’t have specific goals set for 2014 for your Pinterest account and overall strategy, it’d be a smart idea to do that this year.
1. Gain more followers & increase engagement:
– Increase Pinterest SEO: Optimize Pin descriptions (see below), use simple 1-2 word board names, implement Rich Pins, pin daily, and make sure your website’s pins are high-quality images – not spammy.
– Optimize Pin descriptions: Use commonly searched keywords in your pin descriptions for better Pin-SEO (ie: Christmas, Holiday, DIY, Style, Easy, etc…), use positive words as much as possible (cute, awesome, chic, gorgeous, beautiful, fun, etc…).
– Pin daily: Many top brands pin every week or even every month – this is a huge DON’T! It’s not hard to take 10-20 minutes total out of your day for searching, liking, and pinning 15-20 pins a day onto different boards throughout the day. A pin scheduler or liking pins to share beforehand can also help ensure this is met.
2. Increase website traffic:
– Include a call-to-action: In your pin descriptions tell people why they should click through, what they can learn or buy, and explain your USP in a fun and conversational way. They most likely will click.
– Pinterest Influencers: Reach millions of shoppers on Pinterest.
– Create content: Create pins for your blog posts or special sales. Design pins that push for clicks but don’t look spammy. An image title/heading will make pinners want to check out what you have to offer. Add something like “Three 5-minute Dinner Recipes” or “Above-The-Knee Boots Under $100.” Avoid adding logos to images unless it blends in well or is a must.
3. Get more sales:
– Pin seasonally: Create boards that coordinate to the current season. Have a holiday board (or a few!) by showcasing wish lists featuring tips for the holidays, recipes, decor, and your products. Make sure to add a New Year’s Eve board with your products integrated (ie: planning an NYE party, making a New Year’s resolution, or making the perfect NYE outfit). Check out J.Crew’s new holiday gift guide as an example.
– Pinterest Influencers: HelloSociety Pinterest Influencers can make a huge difference for Pinterest-originated brand sales on Pinterest.
